Information about
the Rho'Vanian Fleet's Web Site!
This site is still under re-construction.
We are working hard to bring you
an interactive tactical gaming
room. Thank you for your patience.
.
The Rho'Vanian Fleet is a Star Trek role-play with
an innovative twist. RVF presents a blend of Chat,
SubSpace Simulation, ICQ and E-Mail into a role-play
which challenges everyone's creativity.
Fleet History
The Rho'Vanian Fleet and the system it occupies
is an ally of the United Federation of Planets.
This sector shares a unique and compelling history.
Posturing members are urged to aquaint themselves with it before joining.
Simming and Role-Play
If you have never participated in simming or e-mail
role-play games before, then you may be wondering what this all means.
Simming is entering a chatroom (for example the RVF chat or ICQ chat)and
taking on your character of an Officer aboard a ship. Just as in any fleet,
people are assigned to posts and given various tasks. During the simulation
or role-play, different Officers introduce different plot twists which
keeps everyone actively trying to deal with the situations. Here are some
symbols and rules you need to know to participate:
*Simming and normal chat are about the same. Just
type what your character is saying.
*Actions are put inside two colons - ::action::
*When you are speaking for someone else you put
it inside quotation marks -"SS Jadzia, This is Star Base Malulani
One".
*When you are reporting an action done by someone
else you put that inside double quotations ""Borg cube retreats
on heading 214.5"".
*Usually all members of one crew type in the same
colour.
*If you want to use your communicator to speak with
someone at a different location you use this
symbol - =/\= and the name or place with which you
are wanting to speak.
.
There are many levels to participate
in. You may choose to be highly active in the fleet, or modestly active
as a colonist. For more information, refer to the Rho'Vanian Fleet Recruiting
Station.
Rules
Although the Rho'Vanian Fleet is not Starfleet,
we still abide by the same rules and regulations.
We all follow the chain of command. This is your
Commanding Officer aboard your ship, or the highest ranking officer aboard
at the time. In all cases and in any situations, the Fleet Captain may
override any commands at any time.
.
Please be on time to simulations,
and with your E-Mail posts. If you cannot attend a sim or are
too busy to post, please inform
your CO as soon as possible.
.
Respect everyone. There is
to be no foul language, or discriminatory remarks against race, creed or
gender.
.
Every Officer spends time
creating his or her own artwork. Please ask the author before using any
pictures other than those in the Images Archives. Your respect is appreciated.
.
Breaking of these rules
can lead to demotion or expulsion from the fleet.
Requirements
All you need is a creative imagination and the desire
to have fun! You may participate in as many or as few types of role-plays
as you wish, as long as you have made your choices clear to your CO.
Remember that we are developing a system here, as
well as a fleet. There is no limit to creativity!
How RVF Works
The Commanding Officer of each ship is in charge
of a different section of the fleet. The areas
of R&D, Science, Biotechnology, Security, the
Negotiations and Tactical
Surveillance are controlled by these officers and
supported by their crews. As the crew of each ship
grows through RP, their ideas for the betterment
of the fleet grows with it...
along with their new additions to the RVF website.
Be sure to check out each Commanding Officers
role in the fleet, as assignment on their ship means
interest in that area!
